About me

Kirsty Armstrong – Sculptor

I am a sculptor with more than 30 years experience specialising in realistic and caricatured animal & wildlife sculpture.

Above are a few examples of my work. As a freelance sculptor, I have worked for several major figurine manufacturers including Border Fine Arts, Country artists and Beswick. Over the last few years I have produced my own work for direct sale, and to supply to galleries and shops, and I am also available to work to commission.

I usually sculpt my originals in modelling wax, and reproduce my work in cold-cast copper, or resin which is then hand painted, but I have worked in a variety of materials.

I work from home in north Cumbria, in the UK, where I live with my husband, two boys and our dog. I have always had an interest in animals and when I was a child we kept ducks, goats, chickens and ferrets, as well as dogs and cats. I am now involved in Red squirrel conservation, and as well as being one of the co-founders of our local Red squirrel conservation charity, I am also a trustee, the treasurer, and carry out voluntary Red squirrel conservation work in woods local to me. I also sculpt Red squirrels…..
