There’s now a ‘rusted’ Iron version of my Hare Sculpture…

I’ve now begun to produce a ’rusted’ version of my Harriet Hare Sculpture, in cold-cast IRON! Harriet took me about a year to sculpt (off and on!) and she has now been in production for a further year. I began by making her as a ‘Moon-lit’ cold-cast pewter Hare, but now I also produce a resin bronze lacquered piece (with a green verdigris patina), and this latest cold-cast iron version. There’s a short video of ‘rusty’ Harriet below ↙️

‘Rusty’ Harriet Hare is first treated with acid to accelerate the rusting process, and I then leave her out in the rain to let the rust develop further. Next, I highlight the sculpted detail with various metallic waxes and patinas. I also add dark shading using the lovely British made ‘Cherry blossom’ liquid wax, and finally I enamel the eyes. Ta dah! Another Harriet is brought to life!
