Kirsty Armstrong – Figurative Animal Sculptor UK
Kirsty is a figurative animal sculptor with more than 35 years sculpting experience. She uses traditional techniques to hand produce very detailed animal and wildlife sculpture.
Early career…
As a freelance sculptor, Kirsty worked for several major figurine manufacturers. These include Border Fine Arts, Country artists, and Beswick.
More recently…
Since 2010 Kirsty has designed and produced her own unique range of work. They include limited edition animal sculptures, as well as smaller home decor items and some jewellery. She has a special interest in dogs, and her range includes many realistic dog items. These are all available from ‘Just Kirsty Sculpture & Gifts’ via the British Craft House online selling platform.
Kirsty is also open to commissions, although these (if accepted) must be fitted in around existing projects.

How does Kirsty create her work?…
Working from reference photographs Kirsty sculpts her originals in modelling wax. These are then moulded and reproduced by a local company situated in the Lake District; Lakeland Mouldings.
The pieces are reproduced in various cold-cast metals which are polished, waxed and finished by hand by Kirsty. They are also cast in white resin which go on to be hand painted by a specialist company in the Scottish Borders; Glenfirra of Langholm.
Kirsty also casts and produces smaller items herself in her Cumbrian studio.

Where is Kirsty based?…
Kirsty works from home in Cumbria, in the far north of England, where she lives with her husband, two sons and a rescue Border Collie dog.
Kirsty has always had an interest in animals and as a child kept ducks, goats, chickens and ferrets, as well as dogs and cats.
