Update on my Harriet Hare sculpture

My Harriet Hare Sculpture

My current sculpture, Harriet Hare, is now making good progress and I’m in the process of adding the final fine detail!

This Hare Sculpture is almost full size at 16” to her highest ear. I’m sculpting her in French modelling wax, and when the sculpting of this original is complete she will be mou,Dec locally and then produced as a limited edition in cold-cast pewter, bronze or copper, and also as a hand painted resin version.

A local moulding company will make the mould and cast the pieces for me, and I then will polish and finish the metal casts. I work with another local firm and they will hand paint the coloured versions.

I have also been in touch with the Hare Preservation Trust who work to help and protect Hares in the UK, and I will be donating a percentage of my profits from each Hare sculpture that I sell, to them. I have run a similar scheme this with my Red Squirrel sculptures and as well as raising awareness about this endangered native animal, it has also raised a substantial about of funds for red squirrel conservation projects throughout the UK, and is still doing!

The sculpting of Harriet should be finished soon, and once I have all of the production costs in then I can set her price. I have started a ‘no-obligation-to-buy-but-interested’ list, so if you would like to be added to that then do please get in touch, either by email (kirsty@justkirsty.com) or by commenting below (your comments won’t be displayed on the website, but I’ll be able to see them and respond to you). The first 25 pieces will be at a specially reduced introductory price which enables me to get Harriet moulded and cast…
